Start of a new semester...

Christmas break is now done for the 2009-2010 year. Now officially into the year 2010 and I am here at Indiana State in another spring semester. It just seems like yesterday that I was finishing up on my tours and visits to different colleges and making the connection with Indiana State. Now, I am sitting here looking back at what has been and looking at what is to come with Christ. I am now in my 4th year of college (a 4th year Junior, who would have know, haha). Looking back I have made some of the strongest connections and friendships in school, eventually becoming centered around Christ.

It is amazing, God can make the impossible the possibilities. An awesome scripture from the book of Hosea says "For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings" (Hosea 6:6). This can be translated to the times we live in today. We as people need to seek after Christ with our whole hearts, not plainly going through the motions and making little sense of stuff through Him. We were created for so much through Him and we can do anything through Him. We need to desire Christ not just plainly going to church just to say we did it. We need to walk right beside Him not just following Him with everything still in our lives that was in it before. That is what I have learned so far this year... we need to let everything go from the past to gain so much more through Christ.

So far this year I have had a couple of new experiences... I have been able to start guitar lessons, an instrument I have been wanting to play for a few years, I have added some new workout routines to my workout experience with my roommates, and I have also started some new classes that are directly related with my major (Elementary Education). I am ready to see what direction Christ takes all of this while showing me what will happen throughout the roughest of times. God will take care of everything in His time and I am now fully aware of that, even though at times I want to still wrestle with that. God bless you all, and may we continue to strive for the One that has made life itself possible!
